Is it possible to use the fckeditor file manager with a drupal install that uses a private file system?

I tried editing different settings and just couldn't get this to work for both uploading and the displaying of images. I'm currently using IMCE which does work fine, but would like to use the internal file manager instead.

I have added basic support for private file system to 5.x-2.x-dev, it seems to work and should be available for download tomorrow.
Let me know how it works and if you find any bugs in it.
