should sitemap show url alias for D6 and xml sitemap 6.x-0.x-dev?

Looked through all Drupal 6 issues but was unable to find anything. I know that the Drupal 6 version of XML Sitemap was offline for a while but now that it is back, it seems to work great for me, except for the fact that the sitemap only lists urls of example.com/node/x even though these nodes have aliases generated by path auto.

Just wondering if this is by design at this point... ie not ready for prime time yet understanding that this is a devel version of the module... or... if this is a bug... or if I am doing something wrong?
