Hello Ron,

I don't know if this possible, however, I see a real interest in having the ability to show/hide certain fields while creating a new publication. I noticed that there is a visible check box for displaying certain fields in a publication once it is created, however, I don't see functionality that would allow you to edit which fields should be shown while creating a new publication. Is there a way around this, or would those fields need to be dropped from the database?

Thanks in advance, and keep up the great work :)
cheers
Mike

Actually, that visibility check box should also control the visibility of the entry field on the form as well.

It's probably a bit confusing, but there are two levels of visibility for form fields... On the "admin/settings/biblio/defaults" page, you can set a field to be "common" which means that this field will show up on the form of all the different publication types. When a field is set to common, then it can't be turned off for an individual type. If a field is not "common" on the defaults page, then it can be turned on or off using the visibility check box for any of the available publication types.

I hope that makes sense.

Ron.

Hello Ron,

thanks for the quick reply. I think I understand what you mean, however,
in portal/node/add/biblio for type book chapter or really any type I have fields showing up even when there not checked visible under
admin/settings/biblio/types/edit/100, however it seems that all the fields show up regardless when creating a new biblio entry. I assume the global visibility is set to show all fields, so does that mean I have to check off only those fields which I want displayed, then the defaults are overloaded?

Thanks again
cheers
Mike

I think you must check off the boxes in admin/settings/biblio/defaults. Every field that is checked there will show up for any type. So check them off there, then you can check on those boxes that you like for a certain type.

Hi--
I just upgraded from version 5 and to the current version (Biblio 6-1.1 Build 1.9.2.52) and I was happy to find that my Biblio database came in perfectly. One issue I'm having is similar to the one reported here -- both when creating new records and for existing ones.

I will start a new issue because it relates to existing nodes as well.

Version: 6.x-1.0-beta6 » 6.x-1.1

Glad to here everything transferred OK.

When you say they don't show, where exactly do you mean, the input form or in one of the views (citation list or tabular details) or all three?
