I'm getting duplicate entries; looks like one for each content type I have defined. See the attached screenshot to see what I mean. Let me know if there is anything that I can do to help diagnose this.

If you had selected 6.x-1.x at first, I had already marked this as duplicate of #132524: Port Admin Menu to 6.x and pointed you to the brand new and shiny beta release of admin_menu for D6.

Anyway, ... didn't you see the big red cross next to the title development snapshot? For such releases, there commonly is no support, and most importantly, you really should search the issue queue in front of posting a new bug report.
