Are there plans to make a port to drupal 6?
Suggestion to make excerpts always enabled and required

vm commentedI don't believe this is needed on D6, with the new way teasers can be created in D6 ?
Reading the project page, the dev of this modules has already made a statement about a D6 port.

andypostI see no possibility to make teasers required in d6 so sometimes users forget to make excerpts...

vm commentedThere is a button to split the summary at the cursor. if users don't create a summary, drupal core handles teasers as it always has, based on setting in adminsiter -> post settings.
I don't know that forcing a user to use the new summary feature, makes any sense if the fallback is that core will automatically handle the teaser.
My guess is that you would have to find a way to terminate the split summary feature in D6 and replace it with excerpt, if you were investigating porting this on your own.

rondev commentedI would be very pleased if someone port the module to D6. I use excerpt to display a more attractive excerpt than what is possible with a cut text (image and text in a table).
I have not the required level to develop the port.
