Make links on forum node consistant with comments where possible

Project:Advanced Forum
Version:6.x-2.x-dev
Component:User interface
Category:feature request
Priority:normal
Assigned:Unassigned
Status:closed (fixed)

Issue Summary

Sorry for another hassle. The Title says it all. Either the actual button is missing from the style (?) or I have wonky permissions in my forum module, as all roles are enabled to edit own forum content. Admin cant even find the edit button. Odd thing is that it is visible on all replies/comments in a given thread. But missing for the first post. So this makes me think it isn't a roles permission problem.

I appreciate you help and great module(s) ....[forum and profile, both of them]

That isn't a bug. The edit link for nodes is on the tab. If you want it to be where the comments have it, that's a feature request.

I'm male, blind and likely stupid.

Sorry again.

I thought it may have been related to this problem, regarding filters (see my second post here http://drupal.org/node/268450)

Mind you, it might be nice to have a consistent UI for the node and comments within the Forum. That's what tricked me.

I've been thinking about a core patch for this against Drupal 7, for all content types (and delete etc. links too). Somewhat related feature request at http://drupal.org/node/255686

If we ever move to an 'all node' forum, then this'd be necessary. I also agree that it'd be more consistent for end users (who often won't distinguish at all between an opening topic and replies).
