Issue Summary
IS it possible to make a custom view of the inbox as a block? I want to make a view and block which shows the Inbox, with say 10 messages and a link to the sent box and any other user folders. Also a link to 'create message'.
The default block with pvtmessage only shows a link to inbox and a link to sent mesages. It doesn't show the actual inbox content.

Currently that is not possible. i am however experimenting with similar functionality for d6 release which will allow the user to create different listings of their messages. unfortunately i will not backport it to d5 because it requires too much architectural changes (or so i think?). however if some one provides a patch i will happily review it.

Since that issue was posted, we added *lots* of hooks and I have also explained how to do that in other issues, like #492822: to display latest 5 (more or less) messages. So I'm setting this to duplicate.
