CCK single on/off checkbox not updating from pageroute when using nodeprofile

I am bit uncertain is to whether this is a node profile or issue or a pageroute one, but as the pageroute maintainer seems to have gone MIA and I really need to resolve this issue I am trying my luck here instead.

When using the pageroute module for lonely node management the cck checkboxes functions as normal i.e. you can toggle them on/off. However when the "use as nodeprofile" field is checked the pageroute module goes awire and won't toggle on/off. So I am looking for clues as to what the nodeprofile is doing to the pageroute?
