Is there any chance this is going to be ported to Drupal 6? It seems neither this, nor any of the similar modules have D6 support.

KingMoore commentedHi,
I would like to port to D6 at some point. The problem is mainly that I am not actively building my sites in D6 (and also time to port and maintain two version.) I would like to get the feature set solid and release a BETA before going porting to D6. If you or someone else would like to port the module to D6 I would be more than happy to post the release :).

klaasvanschelven commentedI've created a quick and dirty D6 solution which enables a bulkmail to all users. Not as feature rich as the Mailout module, but if you can't wait and have a D6 site (like me) it could be useful. It can be found here:

simeSorry, no D6 until D5 release, which makes sense.

simeHello subscribees. Coming soon, we're going to try and make a nice javascript send mail thing rather than the awkward multi-step form it is currently.

design.er commentedHello, dear developer team :) Thanks a lot for your engagement! :)
The last message regarding D6 port is from January. Mailout seems to be very interesting for my current project. So, may I ask what's the status of your work?
Best regards,
Stefan

itnaanti commentedFor those of you subscribing to this thread, I have found a reasonable alternative to Mailout, while we wait for 6.x to be functional. I use a separate phpList implementation, and then use the phpList module to tie Drupal in to it. It is not as slick or as powerful as Mailout, but for basic needs it achieves the same thing - an opt-in mailing list managed by the user. As an added benefit (at least to my site) it works with anonymous users too, because subscribe and cancel is handled by phpList.
You can see my implementation at www.helpmarionrehab.com
Cheers!
