Taxonomy ID with children

I have a taxonomy that is my site bread crumbs, now i would like to display this on a side block for when the certain page is visited for a secondary sub-nav bar.

**Example**
Site breadcrumb (Id 19)
-Home (Id 52)
--Welcome (Id 119)
--Update 6/01/08 (Id 120)
--Update 3/30/08(Id 121)
--Update 3/24/08 (Id 122)

Now when the page home is visited i would like to grab Id 19 (and children) and have them in the side bar to read as above.

Can anyone help me do this since all the terms are set-up and linked I would hate to do this again for the menu module.
