How to make search module to work in local site

I am unable to search any article,forums ...content in search module?
I enable search module in drupal 5.x.

It seems that for very long, you didn't run the cron, so your content don't get indexed.

Please run the cron job twice or thrives.

Set proper permissions

Please make sure that you set proper permissions for selected user roles.
I think this might be the problem if you are searching from the client side.
