For my website, a international community-network for partiefreaks of a specific musicgenre, i would like to offer on my website a "psychedelic couch surfing" service (which doesn't exist yet) ...
IE:
case 1)
some guy checks a festival on the calendar ... he is going over there ... he also checks the couch surfing database to see if no one lives near the festival place of in the festival country ... he plans not going overthere for the period of the festival but also a week longer, in which he will stay at the place of some one out of the couch surfing database...
case 2) same as one but together with the info of the festival, you can see how many couches there are in the neighbourhood...
->people with the affinity for the same genre and with same interestests are better connected, and perhaps frinedships will arise ...
The users are in one database (for me that's a vbdrupal, running on the userbase of the forumsoftware), you can check their profiles & add credits (like in ebay)
anyway, a simple couch module is fine also...

Are you looking to integrate with the information that is already on CouchSurfing.com? There doesn't seem to be an API for that site unfortunately: http://www.couchsurfing.org/wiki/API So, it is unlikely that anyone has a CouchSurfing module.
