Well im a new user to drupal.. well i wanna know how far can drupal be customised? can i change the complete look and feel of this site? can sites like www.yahoo.com be built with drupal? or do we have to compromise as drupal doesn't offer that much for us? can we make any website out of this site? can million users visit a site made outta drupal? or i read there is something called as drupal "white screen of death" whats that? can any one explain? i dont want biased answers .. i want an answer to my point!

can i change the complete look and feel of this site? ofcourse you can, go to http://www.drupalsites.net , these are all drupal sites , drupal is made independent of the styling environment

Yahoo's research portal is actually using drupal! Thats what made me smile, a lot of big companies out there are using drupal.

can we make any website out of this site? If you are talking about drupal's portability or limitations of applications then you shouldn't worry. Because out of few hundred available modules you will soon find that what you are trying to has been done in some manner or the other,earlier.
can million users visit a site made outta drupal? I am not sure about that. But few problems do arise with large client base. However, all of them can be fixed . The principal here is to not reinvent the wheel,rather make modifications to it.
i read there is something called as drupal "white screen of death" whats that? can any one explain? I don't remember seeing any blue screen ever! Nevertheless, like any other software it can develop errors depending on your usage but compared to other cmss drupal is the smoothest running software I have ever seen. Faults can arise out of malpractice or faulty usage.

with what i've seen i think
with what i've seen i think it can bee done
but that doesnt mean 1 person will do it for 1 month
and about the perfomance:
yahoo is not hosted on 1 server
there are many servers for application,static files, database
if you can provide several servers,expertise,experience than you can do it
and the white screen is when someone who doesnt know what he is doing fuc-k-s things up
and get scared and shout on the forum showing on the front page

I think it is a function of webhosting solutions you are using, your server - shared vps or dedicated, available RAM and CPU etc.
