I'm currently using drupal 5 and am looking on how to create an image gallery on a single page similar to the one found on cars.com. For most of the car listing, there are 4-12 thumbnails and when selected, they replace the main image on the page with the one selected.

For example:
http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail.jsp;?tracktype=usedcc&searchType=21...

I have looked into several options but haven't seen an example on how this can be accomplished with drupal. Any ideas, suggestions or places to look would be appreciated.

It is a bit complicated if you are new to Drupal theming, but can get the job done very nicely. Nodecarousel was developed by PingV for the Popular Science website. Read the award winning write up to see how Nodecarousel was used.
