The default for the nodereference when using the autocomplete widget is ignored. Attached is a patch that fixes this.

I'm not reproducing the bug. Please try with latest 6.x-2.x-dev and reopen if needed.
Also, be aware that the default value is only supposed to be pre-filleded when creating a new node, right ?
