Issue Summary
On the Available Updates page ImageAPI 6.x-1.x-dev (2008-May-29) shows "Not Supported and recommends downloading: ImageAPI 6.x-1.x-dev (2008-May-29) which is identical. Not sure why.
Module works, just update status error.

Yeah there's something screwy with that release. Hopefully one of the d.o admins can straighten it out.

I took a look at the releases tab of the project, and there is a mysterious 6.x-2.x branch appearing, that doesn't appear to exist in CVS, or have any releases. It was selected as recommended for 6.x (6.x-1.x-dev was shown as recommended).
I switched the recommended to the 6.x-1.x branch and marked the 6.x-2.x branch as unsupported. Hopefully that helps.
This needs some further investigation by someone with more familiarity with project.module and with DB access.

Looks like 6.x-2.x-dev is no longer in the database, considering this fixed.
