With the HUGE amount of contribs, its hard to find quality modules. My proposal is to add a simple rating system (fivestar??) to get a quick idea of how other site administrators view the module. It could be attached to the module as a whole or by module version.

A more complex idea would be to create reviews for the modules themselves with actual comments. I would see this as more troublesome when users write reviews that could contain software problems that should belong in the issue queue.

I'm going to mark this as duplicate of the issues listed here: http://groups.drupal.org/node/7191

catch,

I don't mean to side-step your status update and that link provides an abundance of information regarding module ratings and/or reviews.

I just feel that this should stay active on the issues queue so that potential patches can be uploaded, reviewed and committed (if need be) in the same fashion as other updates and patches.

OK that's fine, but that long list includes a link to this active issue about the same thing, so back to duplicate ;)

See you over there I hope

We are developing the "pivots" system now. It will display on the module page the related forum discussions. To some extend, it can be considered as module reviews.

touche catch.

I didn't search the project.module queue. I guess I forgot that Project has unique characteristics un-related to other generic nodes.
