I am using Drupal 6.2 and the latest (3.1) TinyMCE version.
TinyMCE is configured to show only on node creation.
On Firefox 2 TinyMCE shows only when the browser cache is disabled.
On Firefox 3 TinyMCE doesn't show with cache disabled and I get a WSOD when cache is unabled.
I have the same problem when all Firefox extensions are disabled so they are not in cause.
Using Firebug, I get the following 2 errors:

tinymce.each is not a function
tinyMCE is not defined

On IE no problem whatsoever with or without cache.

Are you using the compressor? I had this problem for a while, and just disabled the compressor. It seems to work.. I'll have to do some more testing, though.

Curious, but do you have Jquery Update installed as well?

edit: reason being, I have seen this break TinyMCE before

I'm actually running the standard 5.7

FYI,

I had a weird problem after firefox upgraded to 3.x... and I upgraded TinyMCE to 3.x
The windows like insert image or hyperlink would work on IE, but not firefox...

I googled and found something similar for another wysiwyg editor and the fix was to delete the firefox profile... and it worked...

I killed any firefox then ran
firefox.exe -ProfileManager

And deleted my profiles and recreated a default profile, and then logged into drupal with firefox and the popup windows started working better on firefox for tinymce!

Hope this helps others...
