no plans so far, just no time, unless a sponsor is found...

just letting you know, there seem to a few errors, i wasn't able to assign a field to a term yet.

I have problems too:

- I can't select a vocabulary from the list
- I can't select a type for the field

Log:

No vocabulary existing or activated. You need to create vocabulary and/or activate it for taxonomy fields to assign fields.
Field type field is required.
No terms were selected. You need to select at least one term to add new fields.

I think it's high time to get the D6-version.

Perhaps someone should raise a ChipIn (http://www.chipin.com/overview) to motivate the developers?

looking at d7 as fields already in core so why not port fields api and make this one implemented as cck

chipin mayme make more progress here

Hi,

This is such an important module for 6.x. Please, what would the costs be to upgrade to 6.x?

Contact me via the contact form :)

Look forward to hearing from you.

I am trying to raise funds to port Taxonomy Fields to Drupal 6.x.
Planned is an mostly unchanged initial release to upgrade from Drupal 5.x., including all original features like CCK fields added depending on taxonomy, the child term option and support for Content Taxonomy fields.

Also requested features and changes on the to-do-list are:

-new tables instead of using 'variables' table
-use of the Drupal 6.x AHAH API
-compatibly with CCK 2
-initial autocomplete support
-parent fields option

Estimated development time will probably be around 4 to 6 weeks. I know this sounds very long at first but on one hand I simply can't work on it all the time and on the other the debugging process can be very long. It took more than two months to get the last version completely up and running, hopefully not as long this time ;)

So please all chip in and te new version will be here as soon as possible!

Please find the ChipIn page here: http://jannporsch.chipin.com/taxonomy-fields-6x

Just my .02...

IMO you should put look into trying to help the "other" project that incorporates CCK and taxonomy: http://drupal.org/project/usage/content_taxonomy ... or perhaps I don't fully understand what the differences between your module and the other one's are.

I think it always benefits the community when things like this are *least* discussed =) Of course you will be free to carry on as you wish =)

No activity jet?
No funds raised but the ChipIn has ended?

What is going on here?

Anyone tested patch from #8?

#27

boneless - October 7, 2009 - 00:29

The patch from #8 is not working as it has been just put through the module updater for 6.x. Code is up to date but functionality completely broken.
Sorry but I have no time what so ever to maintain this module, by the looks interest isn't as big as everyone says looking how the chipin turned out...
@janusman: If you would just spend 30 seconds reading before posting and wasting everyone's time you'd find that the modules are more than different.

no worries, but you will have to wear the bag for 3 days at least! ;)
