Hello,
I've recently migrated from WordPress to Drupal 6, for the purpose of running my blog. A colleague helped me get things setup, so that I receive an email when comments come in, waiting for moderation. Several comments have arrived, and today I logged in for the purpose of moderation, and ran into some issues. (It's also quite possible I've overlooked some things...)
1. I found two screens: Published Comments, and Approval Queue
2. In the Approval Queue, I see the list of comments waiting for moderation (approximately 20). On this screen, I see that I can delete comments in batch. For any given comment, there is a single entry in the operation column: "Edit". (It would be nice to have Ajax-actioned "Approve" and "Delete" entries there too.)
3. Since it's not possible to read the comments on the Approval Queue screen, I click "Edit' on one, and am taken to the comment's screen where I can read it. On this screen however, I no longer have the ability to delete it.
4. To delete the comment, I have to return to the Approval Queue screen, and from the displayed list, try to find the one I'd just read.
5. Once I delete a comment, I'm redirected not back to the Approval Queue, but to the Published Comments list. (I understand from searching, this particular issue is to be addressed in D7.)
Suggested workflow:
1. It would be nice if the at least the first hundred or so characters of the comment were available from the Approval Queue screen (via a dynamically appearing region below the comment, for example). This would save us from having to click "Edit" just to read the comment.
2. It would be nice to have instant (Ajax-actioned) "Approve" and "Delete" actions next to the "Edit" action on the Approval Queue screen.
3. It would be nice to have a "Delete" button on the "Edit" screen (since this is the screen you have to access to, in addition to Editing, even read the comment.)
The above recommendations would ease dealing with comment moderation, in my opinion.
How, in general, does one go about trying to get admin workflow improvements into Drupal? Comments like the one I've made above?
Thanks in advance.
