I want the front page of my drupal (http://bigsendworld.com) to show only the first 400 Characters of each entry, then have a link to view it in its own page. How do I make this happen?

-Thanks

For similair case i used Panels2 module to override front page

The full story is I just imported all my blog entries into drupal.

When I update an individual blog, it will show the first 400 characters. However, the numerous blog posts that I did not individually update shows the entire length of the post on my front page.

Any fix for this?

have you tried to limit the length of trimmed posts in administer > content management > post settings ? set the trimmed posts to 400, maybe it could help.

Yes, it is limited to 800

That is exactly my issue-----this setting doesn't update for all nodes previously.

How do I make it update for all previous nodes?

-Thanks

On my site I set the teaser length to any length that I like, by setting the break position in the edit mode.If you look through the html you will see the break line very clearly. I hope this is what you were asking.
