Mass mail

cwarner - June 20, 2008 - 12:07

I am looking for advice regarding mass mailing options for Drupal. I have a separate legacy database that contains around 10,000 users. I would like the ability to post blog entries and have an email notification sent to a mailing list, and any other users that sign-up in Drupal for notifications. I am running version 5.7.

Does anyone have any suggestions for what Modules (not dev) that may help with this?

try mailbuild

you could try and use mailbuild or campaign monitor. there is a mailbuild module available for drupal. mailbuild is a really nice system that should work for u.

I'll check them out. There seem to be a number of mail related modules in various stages of development.

MASS EMAIL not mass email...

But none of the modules will allow you to send 10,000 emails or such. How can we bypass that ISP limitation?
I have members who need to get a newsletter on a regular basis and now it's taking us more than a week to reach all of them.
It will save us a big hassle and time if we can send with a single command and have them delivered same day.

any suggestions are appreciated, even if it's a non-Drupal option.

I'm not sure that you can bypass an isp limitation-- did you try the support forums for your isp?

There are commercial services

There are commercial services that can do it, however they cost a lot and might even steal your emails for spam purposes.
I was hoping we have a solution like that in Drupal...
The topic of this post was that the user wanted to send 10,000 emails. I wonder if he was able to do it.
