I have searched the modules areas for this one: Panels_views. I need it for the OG module. Anyone seen the link to it?

It's part of the Panels project. It's just one of the submodules that comes with it. I believe it's called "Views panes" on the modules page.

I have downloaded the views bonus pack and installed. Still the "views_panels" module is missing. HELP!

Well, i don't have panels installed, i still have no need for it, but i downloaded a copy. Upon opening it there was definitely a "panels_views" folder and "panels_views_legacy" so maybe you should go to admin/build/modules and look to activating panels views or maybe upload the files back into your /modules folder

the panels_views requirement is met with the Panels 2 package (beta 2 is most recent), not the recommended panels package.

and, the module appears, as noted above, as 'views panes', not 'panels view'.

it is all indeed confusing.

Depends what you mean by recommended. Panels 1 is basically abandoned. I recommend everyone use panels 2. There is a nice upgrade path, though, so panels 1 isn't a dead end if you choose to use that.
