If you visit my Dev site http://dev.unixperformance.ca you'll see a 'News Block' and a 'Specials Block'. They are created using Views2.

Right now, they are one on top of the other.

What I would like is for them to be side by side.

Can anyone help me do this?

use the Panels module and you can achieve what you need

thre is no drupal 6 panels module. :(

hmm
the only way i can think of then is to edit the theme and make the neccessary changes in the tpl and css files
i have done a similar thing for my own theme, you can see this at work on my site
the effect you want i have at the bottom of the page
if u want send me ur theme files (in a zip file) and ill make the changes for you, itll only take an hour or even less work

Iv been trying to get it to work via CSS. If you look at the site again ( http://dev.unixperformance.ca ) you can see what I get.

Iv set the 'News Block' to float right. using the 'region_count_1' style in my main css file.

Iv got it, I needed to use :

.count-3 /* News Block */
{
float: right;
margin-right: 10px;
}

.count-4 /* Specials Block */
{
float: left;
}

To get it to align properly, and be even.

iv found that it breaks when I add menus, and if I change between being logged in and logged out. :(

are those 2 separate regions or is it one region?
as in are u placing the News block in a separate block region to the Specials block or are you placing them both in to the same region?

because if its the same region then you will have problems with different blocks in that region depending on their size etc... you cant work around it using css

They are both in the "Content Bottom" region.

Will I have to build 2 seperate regions to have them work properly?

Im using the ZEN template system. So I imagine Ill be doing some other major editing to get this to work right??

ye u will have to, copy here the content of ur template.php and page.tpl.php files and i will make the changes for u

actually its easier if u just email me the following 3 files and ill make the changes for u,
template.php
page.tpl.php
and zen.css (or whatever uv renamed it to)

Iv made changes to the page.tpl.php in the zen directory (As its the "Defaulting theme" ) I made a content-bottom-left and content-bottom-right. All seems to be fine now, but I cant be 100% sure unless somone else checks it out for me. :P

hows it look to you?

yup looks fine to me, the css is correct
u might want to wrap the two content areas within another div tag though just for browser compatibility, for example:

<div id = content-left-and-right> **new div start**

<div id = content-left> </div>
<div id = content-right> </div>

</div> **new div end**

and give it the following css properties:

#content-left-and-right {
width:700px;
}

Thanks Alot, I will! Im going to use this on an other cutomers site, Im having alignment trouble with it also. :(

Just made the change, It worked great.

Now to move on with the rest of this page, and the other as well!
