Hi !
I tried to install the synonym collapsing module, but without success. It seems as if the module won't install. After enabling the module, nothing happened, no extra menu item were found anywhere in the administration menus. I tried to look directly into /admin/content/taxonomy/synonym_collapsing but got an access denied message. Trying to add synonyms to my vocabularies did not produce the desired behavior.
I am not sure whether there should be any table associated with the module, but no table were found in my db. Disabling the module did not provide the possibility for an "uninstall". The module seems really great, unfortunately I can't use it. I suspect that either something is missing in the .tar folder (perhaps some .install file ?) or that one of my modules is preventing synonym_collapsing to work as desired. I use drupal 6.2. Taxonomy module is on.
Thanks a lot in advance, if anything can be done !

boriso commentedSome extra info :
I did more testing, disabled all other modules, except taxonomy. It wouldn't work either. Made a new installation of drupal2 (on another host, php 5.2.6) + added synonym_collapsing, wouldn't work either. I tried version D5 on another site, that one was ok.

cwgordon7 commentedIt has been upgraded to Drupal 6.2 compatibility, but that is only available in the dev release. I plan to make a new release soon.

xcorex commentedThank you. I was waiting for a new release.
Can you confirm that this modulos will realy be in core of Drupal 7?

comfycat commenteddo I understand this right: Synonym Collapsing only works with a version < 6.2?
I tried the stable and dev version with my drupal 6.4 and it didn't work
Comment #5
cwgordon7 commentedTry the dev version. Clear your cache.

conniec commentedHI
I'm using D6.4. Installed the dev version of this module. Cleared cache. Reindexed. Edited Vocab and terms to refresh. Still no joy.
Is there something else I should be doing to make this work?
This is such an important module! I am anxious to get it working on my site. Please advise.

cwgordon7 commentedDefine "Not working", please. Do the tests pass?
conniec commentedI don't see where I should be running any tests. All I get is a tab on the taxonomy page. Nothing in admin config, no permissions to set in access or any where else. I'll be glad to run tests. Where do I find them?
Not working = I enter synonyms on taxononmy page for terms. I click on synonyms tag and highlight vocab and click on submit.
I do have a table called taxonomy_synonyms in my database, but it only has the terms in it that I defined before I installed the synonyms collapse module.
I'll be glad to pass along any info I have. I'm not sure how to help but am willing to test and report back any way you need me to.

asb commentedThis issue is going nowhere, and the problems claim to be resolved in #327064, so setting this as a duplicate of #327064: node->build_mode might not be set -> php error.
