Does anyone here have experience with GoDaddy as a Drupal ISP? I'm particularly interested in tech support and Drupal performance issues.

It sure has been hard finding a RELIABLE hosting service that's optimized for Drupal!

I have GoDaddy hosting several very low-profile Drupal sites. The space is cheap and load time is acceptable most, but not all of, the time. (Because I am running shared hosting, my site's performance is dependent on what the other sites on the host are doing at the moment.) The few times I contacted GoDaddy Support, I did not receive much help; "Unfortunately, we do not provide technical support with third-party scripting issues." I am wondering if I don't want to combine all my puny installs onto a single dedicated host. When I do I will likely move away from GoDaddy, but have not yet found a suitable replacement. Here are many options. Blessings! -NP

GoDaddy has excellent support, however, I found that the shared hosting was not optimized for my Drupal sites. Drupal seems to be very database intensive, requiring the database server to be on the same physical machine as the Drupal installation. Check with GoDaddy if that's the case with the hosting plan you go with. I found Hostgator.com's BabyCroc Linux hosting plan works very well for my Drupal sites.

I've got Drupal sites running on both IX Webhosting and GoDaddy (shared Linux.) IX Webhosting is dirt cheap and unlimited, but I get better performance with GoDaddy, for sure. Also, GoDaddy supports SSH, which makes updating Drupal a lot handier. IX Webhosting does not support SSH and has no plans to.

If you sign up for IX Webhosting (www.ixwebhosting.com), be sure to get your account setup on their newer servers with their "control panel 8" version. By default, your account will get setup on their older stuff which has MySQL 4.x and PHP 4, which won't support Ubercart 2.x.

I have yet to find an issue with GoDaddy hosting of Drupal. Even their php.ini (actually php5.ini) and CRON work just fine. I have a drupal multi-site setup on GoDaddy -- works fine.
