5x.1.x-dev vs 5x.1.4

Everything was fine until I updated form 5.x-1-dev ( 7,839 bytes from last year ) to 5.x-1.4
With 5x-1.4 the similar block shows WRONG links or no block when the
block s'd be there- cannot figure out how and which ( seems that it shows recent content but with NOT the same terms in "tags" - called 'Subjects in my site
I selected " none " on the extra 'new' filter - something about node types
Tried with "the same type node" - most of the time no block when is
suppose to be 1 or if there, wrong links again
I do have path auto, taxonomy context module and organic groups
