The JavaScript used for header image rotation relies on jQuery resulting in jQuery being downloaded by every anonymous visitor to the site. This code is simple enough that it can be re-written to not require JavaScript and reduce site load time for anonymous visitors.

I don't think the debugging time required is worth the end result. Aside from making sure it works correctly in every browser, it also has to not conflict with jQuery when it is present.
