I think a good addition to this module would be for an option to set the target (current hard-coded into the module as target="_blank").

If i can work out how to do it, i will add a patch myself— will be a test of my (increasing, but still limited) php skills.

[I have altered the module myself, though the slideshow is not to using the altered feed—it still keeps opening a new window, even though the xml has changed. I have cleared the cache...]

I have resolved the issue with the link target—it was linked to a function override n my template file to use this module with CCK imagefields (see http://drupal.org/node/195274#comment-649275).
