I have no idea whether this is actually feasible, but I would love to be able to use something like [parent-yyyy] or [source-yyyy] for translated nodes and then have them have the [yyyy] value of the node they're a translation of.

This is now possible with D7, but I don't think its likely that we'll backport the chaining ability of D7.
