Could you please provide some examples of values that would make sense in this field and briefly explain that happens as a result? Thanks.

Good question.
As far as I can see, it's currently unused. It gets saved using variable_set, and is not read or used by anything ever.

I'm guessing that a useful vocab will require a mapping to an ontology scheme of some description - or possibly a prefix - but the current freetext field appears to be just a placeholder for further work :-}

Actually, for starters like me, it is being very difficult to use rdf module, there is no step by step settings or documentation. If anyone can give me some suggestions that would be helpful.

For Administer >> Content management >> Taxonomy >> Edit vocabulary, here is the #description field:
