The 1 Second Film Project Description

The 1 Second Film is a groundbreaking non-profit collaborative art project that everyone can be part of, alongside major celebrities. The film uses Drupal powered social networking tools to allow thousands of people to work together; profits from the finished film will benefit charity. Starting with the World's Biggest Shortest Film, our larger goal is to build a platform for global collaboration. The online community being created by The 1 Second Film (10,000 members and counting) will serve as a foundation for The Collaboration Foundation, which will continue to facilitate increasingly ambitious global collaborative art projects, providing an innovative platform for social change. Overview of Objectives:
This upgrade will focus on growing our community base by improving usability and removing barriers to participation while upgrading from Drupal 4.7 to Drupal 5.

The 1 Second Film is seeking a partner to evaluate the most efficient path to implementing the necessary changes using the strongest feature-sets available through the Drupal content management system.

Improvements and new features that require specification and implementation include:

- Improved Registration Process: Allow registrants to more simply/quickly join, create profiles, invite friends, donate and participate more. Support single sign-on integration with partner site (www.collaborationfoundation.org).
- New Participation Roles (Film Credits): Anonymous, Member, Publicist, Producer – each with different actions triggering attribution.
- Additional Community Tools: To encourage additional online collaboration, the project will incorporate buddy lists, add organic groups, allow photo/video and special content uploads, onsite email/chatting with members, vanity urls for registrants, registrant interest and film credit tagging/tag clouds, favorites, and more.
- Increased Privacy Controls: Enable registrants to more granularly control their exposure to the community through “do not contact” options, private fields, anonymous donations and attributions, etc.
- New Content Architecture: A changed main menu and footer that includes new content types as well as rearrangement and modification of existing content types.
- Optimization & Standards: Update existing CMS framework to incorporate relevant security patches, updates and to configure dependent modules required for any of the core requests above.
