I want to enable paid membership levels. It needs to integrate with paypal, preferbly without leaving the site by going to paypals website to complete payment information. Ive used Paypals web service for payment integration on another platform, so I know its possible.

Is this the right module I should be looking at ?

Pay2Publish handles payment for nodes, what you need is a module to handle membership. I made a module which does just that, PM me if you are still interested, and I will post a link to it. Alternatively, try searching for 'Drupal Paypal Subscriptions' on google.
