auto menu only creates links for users with admin menu access.
Is it possible for users without menu access too ?

automenu is just a layer on top of the menu module. So, I'm afraid there's nothing I can do about it.

i think that many people are looking for an auto menu specifically to deal with the lack of detailed permissions in the menu module, specifically that when mid-level users like site editors create content and they do not have the perm to administer menu (something they could break a lot of things inside) then the content is not usable without administrator intervention since they cannot assign it to the menu, and it cannot be auto-assigned it sounds like. i have come to the conclusion that the easiest solution, rather than searching for modules that change the behavior of menu, or add more detailed permissions to it, that to just use the book module, and give site editors access to that module, and that way the book block can replace the menus. i hope this solution solves somebody else's similar train derailment. and in case you almost get derailed again, check out http://drupal.org/node/44648

ps, i'm a drupal newb too as anyone encountering this situation must also be, so i have to add that my next guess would have been to use categories (taxonomy) but since other modules rely on taxonomies, i hesitated to give my site editors access to taxonomy admin either.

Hi,
I have exactly the same problem with auto menu moddule, i.e : it doesn't work when users publish content.
Can you tell me which permission I have to click in "User management > Access Control" to enable auto menu for every user?

Thanks in advance.
Best Regards.
