If you try to edit your own comments, drupal give back the error "There is already another user with that name".
So maybe comments are imported with correct username but aren't liked to proper user.

Hi tassoman,
The imported comments are not linked to a user. Could you tell me which steps lead to this error message, and which contributed module are installed on your Drupal ?

Branch 5.x is no longer supported.
