Deleting markers

Description
Hello, I'm adding markers by double clicking. But there are two things I'm having problems with.
1. if I drag and drop a marker it leaves the original marker in place and adds a new one at the end of the drag trail
2. I can't delete points! I've tried alt, shift and ctrl clicking but no luck.
Any clues?
