For the life of me, for the past hour I have been unable to get the Image Assist button to appear in FCKeditor. I've copied (symlinked actually) the img_assist_fckeditor.js file into the Image Assist module directory; that by itself didn't work. I tried adding it manually to a toolbar in fckeditor.config.js; that didn't work. I'm not having the problem others were having with the popup window—for me the button won't show up at all. I'm using Drupal 6.2 and the latest recommended 6.x versions of both Image Assist and FCKeditor. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hmm, I may have just been misunderstanding the "integration"—unlike TinyMCE, where a button is inserted into the toolbar, and the link or image below the text area didn't work, with FCKeditor the link below the text area works, but it doesn't seem to actually add a button to the FCKeditor toolbar. Is this how it works? If so it would be neat if it did actually add a button to the editor toolbar, just to keep things a little cleaner.

Yes, this is how it works right now. It was the quickest way to provide Image Assist compatibility.
Let's try to change it in the next major release as sugested.
