I Have a quick question. Once the module has done it's tasks do I need to keep the module a) active and b) installed. Is the joomla content converted to drupal content or is the module still involved in the process?

If you're done; you can delete it

Right, you can delete this module after you do successful migration process. Also, you can terminate your Joomla site.
