Menu Expansion

How can I keep expanded menus from going past the depth setting? Is there a way to disable the "expanded" setting on menu items to avoid breaking a layout?

For example:
Say I have a menu with a depth setting of 1, yet all of it's menu items are set to "expanded". It will keep displaying all of the expanded menus thus breaking a layout that only allows for menus that are one level deep. I guess that could be a feature request. "Disable expanded menu items"

Of course you could have a menu that shows more than one level deep in which case you might still want to keep certain menu items expanded. I'm not sure how you would handle this scenario. In this case I think you might need an option like "Disable expanded menu items in the last level of menu items that are trimmed". This is a little hard to explain.

What is your thoughts on these options?
