I was having trouble uploading my own logo. I looked into the page.tpl.php file and found that 3 lines were commented out. After uncommenting, it worked perfectly!

Is there a reason those lines were commented, or is it just a minor oversight?

It's in the README file. The way the theme is built, it does not format logo positioning that well by default. I suppose I could leave it enabled in the tpl and just not include a logo image with the theme, and I think that might be ok. I dunno if Drupal will still look for a logo image on every page load still if there is no logo included with the theme.
