Is it possible to have additional fields in the signup section?

Right now there is:
Name
Phone
Email
(Name and email are required, phone is not).
Is it possible to have more fields (say, for example, "notes", or random things like "What kind of costume will you be wearing?" or whatever). This would be a way of getting more information from the person registering for the event.
And if this isn't the best module for that job, do you have suggestions on what might be?

http://drupal.org/project/event_webform is designed for exactly what you are after, it can display a message or email people until they have filled out the webform associated with the event.

I propose that, since signup_pay is a module for signup, and this issue would be something handled by the signup module & not signup_pay, that this is a duplicate of #29568: Flexible number and type of fields.
