Does this error persist? Have you upgraded or did you a fresh install? Do you have any workflow-ng extension modules enabled?

We got fatal errors when we installed ng. Here are my notes:

1. Actions 5.x-2.x and workflow 5.x-2.x installed. Devel installed. NG installed -- with ALL options checked. Fatal errors galore.
2. Upped PHP memory. No relief
3. Removed devel. Still fatal errors.
4. Removed actions 2.x and workflow 2.x. Still fatal errors.
5. Removed State Machines. Still fatal errors.
6. Removed Configurable content links ---> BINGO. No more fatal errors.

7. Reinstall actions 5.x-2.x and workflow 5.x-2.x. Fatal errors.
8. Revert to actions 5.x-1.x and workflow 5.x-1.x. No more fatal errors -- ever.

So I hope that helps. I am SURE that fago and other smart people here are capable of better diagnosis, but I thought I'd share my experience (trial and error, for sure) in the hope that you can find a working state sooner.

I would also add that (no offense, fago -- love you and ng, but...) ng gets a little funky when you have more than one rule for a trigger (like "workflow has changed" or "content is being saved"). We found that we could get fatal errors or strange behavior when we had more than one, but by using custom php, we could move conditions and actions into a custom php action with if/then statements and we would be very, very happy.

Hope this helps.

The error message went away.

I installed and enabled some more modules and just on a whim I enabled Workflow NG UI and got no error message associated with workflow!!

ok, I don't know what's wrong with your installation, however I mad the call more secure so the fatal errors should go away. Test the next development snapshot.
