I installed Drupal 6.2, but now it won't let me leave the control panel. Anywhere I go I have to re-log because I have access denied (when I re-log it throws me back to the cpanel).

I would appreciate any help.

Admin -> Access Control -> Access Content ( check Anonymous, and authenticated user)

I feel this should solve your problem.

I still have the same problem.

I re-installed Drupal and disabled Clean Url's.
Now it's working fine.

Any idea why it could be?

Probably your server did not install mod_rewrite module for Apache. And Apache must be properly configured to support .htaccess overwrite.
