No matter what various options I try (redirect, full, themed, etc.) the only page I have success in using is the anonymous alternate. Permissions are allowed for all roles.
Users other than anonymous are taken to their user account screen.

Has anyone overcome this problem?

Hmmmm... Perhaps I don't understand this module - achieved what I was trying to do by adding the login_destination module.
