Hi,
With installing this great module, I can see the location fields are now taxonomy based, which is great!
But is it also possible to show the already avaiable regional information in the location - country and location - state/province fields (if selected in /admin/settings/location in the place vocabulary, so my users/and myself do not have to type them in again? This information is already in the location module, right?
Thanks a lot for your answer in advance!
greetings,
Martijn

mlncn commentedNo-- the regions are made as your users enter them.
This module avoids requiring a definitive list of every place in the world, while offering autocomplete for any location that has been entered once before.

summit commentedHi Benjamin,
I understand. The other way around is not possible?
So that the places which are already in location will be autocompleted and only the places you select will come in the vocabulary, user typed or coming from location-database?
Greetings,
Martijn

mlncn commentedThere's some exciting stuff with OpenCalais that I would certainly be interested in integrating with, that would seem to map well to this concept.

They must have a vocabulary of locations with latitudes and longitudes somewhere already. Theoretically, we could both pull from and contribute to this vocabulary.

summit commentedHi Benjamin, this looks exciting.
Location itself can't do it what I can see.
And this would be great to pull from and off course possible contribute new places :)
So then already available places need not be inserted by anyone, but with autocomplete they show themselves in the field, right? and will be insterted in the vocabulary if a node is attached to them, right?
greetings, Martijn

summit commentedHi Benjamin,
I think opencalais can be used to do geo reverse engineering.
I have lat/lon from country and city and would very much like to show missing region to my users.
This is on Location/gmap/feedapi using on D6
Thanks a lot in advance when you go into place for D6.
greetings,
Martijn
