Need somebody to theme and design the user interface of a drupal 6 website. The site is already set up (or under development), but none of the pages are themed or made to look nice yet. The site allows e.g. homeowners to publicly write up project and ask contractors/craftsmen for bids. After receiving several bids, the project owner can choose a specific bid.

Complete theming for the website is required. The current development stage of the website is visible at www.hammerofferten.ch . This should also allow you to get an impression of the effort required. The final website will be in German, but on this test website I have made a part in English so that you should be able to do the work even if you do not understand German.

Theme all the pages (including forms, registration, views, teasers, …) of the website using the drupal 6 theming guidelines and current Drupal 6 possibilities, including CSS, template, …

The base theme to use should be one of the standard ones that you get with the drupal 6 installation.

Experience with Drupal 6 is required!

As you can see, all the pages, forms, views, login, … need to be made to look nice, color schemes need to be put into place, CSS defined, … The forms need to be nicely structured and cleanly organized. So that in the end the site will look as clean and appealing as other websites.

Obviously, the site needs to look good on the four major web browsers.

I'm interested in this job , a couple of questions.

What time scale do you have?
Are you wanting a new theme from scratch (I would feel happier with) or do you want a modified version of the garland theme (your current theme)?

Unless you give me good reasons to do a new theme from scratch, I would rather stay with a standard drupal theme. Doesn't need to be Garland, but could be any of the ones that come with Drupal 6.x.
The reason for this is that the standard themes are directly supported with Drupal. So, any upgrades should be simpler and most modules would all behave nicer with the standard themes.

What would be the reasons for me to use a new, specifically tailored theme?

For the time scale I would propose a month, so that we have the possibility to have some cycles of improvements.
