When I try to add a "most recent poll" block, all my blocks except for navigation disappear completely and can only be brought back by completely re-loading the theme. WHY??? I can't figure it out. What am i doing wrong? Not like I really need the poll there but it would be nice!

contributed theme ? custom theme ? default theme ?

if a contrib or custom theme, try on a default theme. If the adverse behavior isn't seen on a default theme then the problem is with the contrib theme or a customization you've done.

i tried it with several themes. i just now set it to the garland theme and tried it again. it does the same thing every time. once i add the "most recent poll" to the block list, its over. i have to reset my theme because i cant manage my blocks anymore.
