Is there any chance that you could port this to 5?

If not, can you provide suggestions on how to use it with version 5? I'm a little nervous about trying to install a 4.7 module on 5. Should I try to find version 4.7 of drupal, somewhere?

Well, since this is the first issue for this module ever, I was not aware of anyone using it. To be honest, we used it in 4.7.x last and not once since then.

I would welcome a patch and also would review (and commit) it.

I figured out that nodequeue, plus a front page view was the right solution.
