Odotnet commentedAlso, e-mail login doesn't work.
waldmeister commentedSo please uninstall all modules.
Or start from scratch.
Your password does not lie in the database. There are only hashes of the passwords.
You should remember what you choose in the installer.
Please install modules step by step and only if they are needed.
Then tell us, which module fails - or better, tell the module maintainer.
With drupal6, many small workarounds can be done to avoid installing an extra module.
PS: Watch out Drupal and Server Logs for additional information

Anonymous (not verified) commentedYou can create a new password for the account by requesting a password change. But you need to have a valid email account for the user to receive the new password. If you need more help set the Status back to 'active'.

Odotnet commentedEDIT!
It says
"The username admin has not been activated or is blocked."
And
"Sorry, admin is not recognized as a user name or an e-mail address."
I guess I'll start again, not using unused modules.

Anonymous (not verified) commentedWhat is the email address associated with the user? Is it my@email.com? I see a one_time_login module, it looks like it could be a culprit to the issue. Try disabling that module.

Odotnet commentedNah it's something else, but it don't matter. I started again.

rdilauro commentedI am having the same problem on a fresh install. I've installed 6.2 two ways.
1) Using the package file from here and doing it manually
2) Using Fantisico from my web hosting site.
The results are the same. Drupal completes the install, but I can not log on to admin userid. When I enter the userid/password, the screen refreshes and just comes back to that same logon. If I use a different name or password, I will get an error message and IF I try to have the password sent, it will come back and just say userid is not valid.
I've done this about 5 times, same results.. Using Mozilla Firefox 2 for my browser
