Issue Summary
Drupal 5.7.
If somebody replies on PostA by using "reply" link instead of the "quick answer form" bellow the last post, then the PostA loses "edit" link for in Post author's UI.

That's normal forum behavior. Use the flatcomments module if you want a way around that.

thank you for the explanation and link to move on

Michelle, I have recently noticed this as well.
Is it ok to use Flatcomments in conjunction with Advanced Forum to solve this issue? Or are you suggesting that of a user doesn't like this behaviour then they should not use Advanced forum and choose Flatcomments instead? (I hope it isn't the later as I have invested so much effort into getting Advforum where I want it, and now all my user complain because they cant edit some of their posts)

It works fine with advforum. In fact, it's on the suggested modules list.

Hello Michelle, sorry to drag this one up again. Edit is working fine now.
As I am logged in as Admin I had not previously noticed, however registered users are unable to delete their comments in Advanced Forum, even if no one has replied to that comment. Is this by design?

Whether or not a user can delete comments has nothing to do with AF. AF is about display, not access control.
